NEST Volunteers arrive at the scene

Much to our surprise this morning, we had a rare Green sea turtle nest up in Duck, making our total nest count to date at six (6).

Mission accomplished--eggs located!

Volunteer responders had their work cut out for them as Greens are known to be “messy” nesters!  After a lot of determination (3 hours) and I might add perspiration–they were able to locate the eggs.

The team collected an egg for the DNA sample and called it a morning!  A Big Thanks to all for their efforts on such a hot hot day in July!!

A beautiful Green crawl....
