Yesterday morning, Sept. 22, a beach goer called in what they thought looked like a turtle crawl. Indeed that is what she found.  The turtle made a very convoluted path- coming in, crawling up the dune then back, moving south through a pit, up the dune again, back to the ocean … wait, wait, no! looped back up the beach, crawled north back through the pit and then finally back to the ocean… but left no eggs.

It’s time the turtles head south but a few have had other ideas. The central part of the state had a confirmed nest the same day!
