The Nest hotline received a call last night of a turtle on the beach. Our Nest responders were treated to a rare sighting of a loggerhead turtle laying her eggs, and heading back out to the ocean.
The Nest team was then able to mark off the area of the nest, making it much easier to find the eggs the nest morning.
Making quick work of finding the turtle eggs was Margaret and Peggy.. with quite a few curious beach goers this morning.
This nest like all of the others in Nags Head had to be relocated because of beach nourishment. So after digging up the eggs, we moved to new location and started to replicate the nest at new site.
And John working hard as always.
Thanks team 13
Almost forgot, wanted to thank the young gentlemen who was passing out sausage biscuits. After working for two hours to relocate the nest, it was much appreciated 👍
