Today was a big record breaking day for us, four nests, twice that of our previous record of just two nests found on any one day. What might this mean for our total nest count this summer?? Only the turtles know but we are very hopeful we will break more records this year! The Nest 13 team of Stephanie and Rich found the eggs in short order. The nest needed to be relocated as the area is prone to ocean over wash. The team estimated the nest would be washed over more than half the time likely harming the development of the hatchlings.

Rich hard at work to find the exact location of the eggs.

Once it was relocated Nest 13 was roped off until time for emergence. DNA samples were collected and temperature dataloggers were placed in and outside of the nest.
