This mother turtle wanted to avoid the fireworks!! The nest was laid below the average high tide line so had to be relocated to higher ground. While some ocean over wash is good for nests too much over wash can deprive developing embryos of needed oxygen.

Once the eggs are removed the nest dimensions are measured so that we can reconstruct a new nest of the same size and depth
