The fabulous girls of Girl Scout Troop #2603!!

The Network for Endangered Sea Turtles (N.E.S.T.) recently received a very generous $200 donation from Girl Scout Troop #2603.   Pictured from left to right in the front row: Brooke, Hope, Nevaeh, and Shelby; 2nd row: Lucy, Cole, Allison, and Ariel; back row: Troop Leader Kathy Farmer, Shannon, Martina, and NEST President Karen Fitzgerald. The donation will be used to help pay veterinary expenses incurred during the rehabilitation of stranded sea turtles at the Sea Turtle Assistance and Rehabilitation Center or STAR, a new facility located at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island which is slated to open in early summer.  STAR will provide nearly 3,000 square feet for the Aquarium and N.E.S.T. to care for sick and injured sea turtles.

N.E.S.T. is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization committed to protecting endangered and threatened sea turtles and their habitat on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
