The storm brewing made the discovery of Nest #26 in Duck a somewhat a rushed event, but in the end, the rain jacket-clad volunteers pulled it off! ATV rider Dan had just started dodging some rain showers when he came across a crawl leading 2/3 up the beach to the nest site. Volunteers were called, and Jill and Jackie came prepared in rain gear to search for eggs and stake out the nest.

The two found the eggs in less than two minutes thanks to their quick digging skills.  Dennis and Bob arrived and the  team discussed relocation with it being in an area that occasionally gets washed out during fall storms but the ominous thundering and rain showers seen on the horizon brought the group to decide to leave it where mom picked and hope the storms will be kind this year!
