A little after 5:45 AM Charlotte called KC and said, “Get out of bed, Mike is about to find a nest!”  She had gotten the heads up from a beachgoer who was out walking her dog this morning when she happened upon a mother loggerhead lugging her way back toward the ocean.

Once Mike got on scene and the location was confirmed, the Nesting Response Team was notified and off to Ocean Sands they went.  The Neumans were first on scene, not even having to leave their neighborhood.  Shortly after, was our intern Jessica who happened to be jogging on the beach at the time right past the crawl.  KC and Bob finished it up (and Dennis decided to go back to bed… but he promised he’d find one on Friday).

She couldn’t have picked a better spot, right at the foot of the dune, seemingly in the backyard of NEST volunteers Mary Lou, Rich, and Ray.  This Nest will be will taken care of for sure!
