Ralph, N.E.S.T.’s Friday ATV rider in KDH, found a wild and crazy green turtle nest this morning. Of course, most green nests are a bit crazy. This mother ventured up to the dune and then turned around, laid her eggs, turned again and came back over her nest to make it to the ocean. I think she was trying to out smart us.

Ralph contemplates his find.
Once the response team led by Aces Darlene and Peggy arrived, the search for eggs began.

Digging required some patience and long arms.

Kevin found the eggs on the first hole! The eggs were a whopping 22 inches deep.
Once the eggs at top of the nest were cleared off temperature dataloggers were installed. The nest was buried and roped off until the time of emergence!
