A big three nest day for us! Nest 8 was found in the 4WD section of our territory,  nest 9 in KDH and then nest 10 in Corolla!  These mother turtles escaped those huge great white sharks reported off our beaches by OCEARCH and gave us three beautiful nests.

This may looks like a picture of tire tracks but it is a very long sea turtle crawl! The nest can be found in the top third of the picture next to the piece of wood laid perpendicular to the ocean.

Nest 9 to the right

This mother was small as her crawl was a slim 70 cm wide. Most of the nests in our territory are laid by loggerhead sea turtles and their crawls are on average 65-100 cm across.

Team 9 led by Gail and Ricky B made short order of finding the eggs and installing temperature data loggers. Sue F (kneeling) and Mary Lynn M are pictured in the center. They look like they are having fun!
