Outer Banks Olive Oil Company owner, Laura Wayland, presents donation to N.E.S.T. President, John Cece.

N.E.S.T. profoundly thanks the owners and employees of the Outer Banks Olive Oil Company for their truly incredible effort to raise money for N.E.S.T. The amazing team designed a limited-edition sea turtle label for bottles of delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar sold at their stores in Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, and Duck.  The owners, Laura and Phil Wayland, then dedicated a generous portion of each sale to N.E.S.T.

Their efforts are a prime example of what makes the Outer Banks such a special place – a locally-owned small business dedicating a portion of their profits to benefit the local community. In this case, N.E.S.T. was the very lucky beneficiary.

N.E.S.T. would once again like to thank the owners, employees, and all the patrons of the Outer Banks Olive Oil Company very much because the sales of the limited edition sea turtle bottles resulted in a $5,100 donation to N.E.S.T. !!

N.E.S.T. is proud to announce that the donation will help fund our nesting response efforts and our ongoing project sponsoring annual field trips for classes from Dare County’s elementary schools to the Sea Turtle Assistance and Rehabilitation (STAR) Center at the NC Aquarium at Roanoke Island in Manteo.
